5 Essential Steps for Your New Life
If you’ve recently surrendered your life to Jesus through the Works of Jesus Ministry, you have just made the most significant decision of your existence. The Bible says that, when one person repents, all of heaven throws a party (Luke 15:7).
But now that the initial "mountain-top" moment has happened, you might be wondering: What happens now? Following Jesus is a journey, not just a one-time event. Here are five practical, biblical steps to help you build a foundation that cannot be shaken.
1. Understand What Just Happened (The Exchange)
Salvation isn't just a feeling; it’s a legal and spiritual reality. You have participated in "The Great Exchange." 2 Corinthians 5:21 explains it perfectly:
"God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God."
You gave Him your sin; He gave you His righteousness. You are now a "New Creation." Don't let your past tell you otherwise.
2. Start Living in the Word
Your spirit needs food just like your body does. Start reading the Gospel of John. It’s the best place to understand the heart of Jesus.
NOTE: Don't just read to finish chapters; read until a verse "jumps out" at you. That is the Holy Spirit speaking to you personally.
3. Talk to God Daily (Prayer)
Prayer isn't a religious ritual; it’s a conversation. You don't need fancy words. Just talk to Him about your day and your gratitude. He is now your Heavenly Father, and He loves to hear from you and have fellowship with you.
4. Find a Spirit-Filled Community
You weren't meant to walk this path alone. To grow, you need to be around other believers who can encourage you. Whether it’s joining us at a Works of Jesus revival meeting or finding a local Bible-believing church (WE WILL HELP YOU FIND ONE IF YOU NEED HELP), get connected. Fire stays hot when the coals are together; a single coal pulled away will eventually go cold.
5. Be Water Baptized
Baptism is the outward sign of your inward change. It is a public declaration that the "old you" has died and a "new you" has been raised to life. If you haven't been baptized yet, make it a priority!
